THE TANNERY has screened at The Academy as one of the qualifying films for the Oscars 2011      
Iain Gardner graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1996.
Apprentice on Richard Williams' unfinished masterpiece THE THIEF and the COBBLER. He animated this hoop of fire!  
Iain animated at the following studios:
tvc, Silver Fox, Bermuda Shorts, Nexus, Illuminated, Sweetworld, Global Mechanic, Red Kite Animation, Axis Animation
 
 
Iain has lectured and given presentations at many educational institutions:
UWCN Newport
, Edinburgh College of Art, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art,
Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design Vancouver
, University of Beijing, and Sheridan College Toronto.
 
 
His animation techniques are discussed in 'THE ANIMATION BIBLE' by Maureen Furniss    

In 2014, Iain was Artistic Director or McLaren 2014, a UK-wide celebration of the Centenary of Norman McLaren, a CMI produced project in partnership with the National Film Board of Canada, and funded by Culture 2014 and the BFI.

 

 
Convener of the Scottish Animation Network during 2008, Iain also programmes Short Animation for the Edinburgh International Film Festival.  
The Tannery was listed in Animation Magazine Oscar Watch 2011
 
In 2011, Iain animated on Ben Hibon's Sucker Punch shorts for Axis Animation.
 
Regenerated the house in this music video for Brazilliant Sneeks.
 
Iain specialises in traditional 2D Animation techniques, adept in TVPaint, Flash and After Effects
